We believe there are a number of key issues in relation to the wider criteria of delivering a successful project and we would like to address them individually below in no set order.
Understanding the brief:
Our approach is to quickly gain a fundamental understanding of the projects aims and objectives and to then work as part of the team to best bring about their delivery. We feel strongly that the Lighting element of a project should, apart from achieving the desired feel to the space both in terms of functionality and space shaping, be fully integrated with the architecture and sit comfortably with the finished interior or exterior.
Team Working:
An over used statement perhaps, but we believe successful projects start with the assembled team of people who work together and enjoy working as a group. Who also understand and respect the design processes other disciplines in the team have to go through in order to deliver their particular expertise. L+DA have the depth of experience and maturity of approach through working with many different design teams over the years and a thorough understanding of how buildings are designed and built that sets us apart in our particular specialism.
Lateral Thinking:
Each project we undertake has its own unique signature, meaning that we approach each project on its own merit rather than simply provide a generic solution. Drawing from our experience of proven technology and a varied project portfolio, yet thinking laterally to resolve a particular issue, ensures our clients fully benefit from the use of a specialist Lighting designer.
Good Communication:
Personal exchanges of design ideas across a meeting table we find are the most stimulating and often bring the best results, removing ambiguity and allowing ideas in other members of the team to be triggered. We favour design development on a face-to-face basis
Meeting Deadlines:
Whilst we are a creative firm of lighting designers we fully understand the importance of delivering the project deliverables on time and to budget.
